Pipe flow cut by explosion

China News.Net
Thursday 7th August, 2008

Oil flow through the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline was cut Wednesday after an explosion sparked a fire in a pipe section in eastern Turkey.

The incident occurred around midnight near the eastern town of Refahiye, in Erzincan province.

The possibility of sabotage has been ruled out as a fault in the system was detected before the blast.

The fire was still burning on Wednesday.
