More money for Tibet health care

China will considerably increase spending on health services in the Tibet region, an official said Sunday.

The expenditure will go up by about 30 percent to 1.4 billion yuan ($225 million) in 2012, compared to last year's figure, Xinhua reported.

The government will spend 630 million yuan on free medical services for farmers and herders and improving the medical insurance system for urban residents. Standards for medical subsidy for urban residents will be raised, the official said.
